Patch from 1970's measures 2" in shield format yellow cloth with blue stitching ...original patch, has a little blue bleed from stitching.

In 1953, a  young  girlnamed Maureen Connolly won the Grand Slam of tennis. She was the first woman toever capture this elusive crown by winning the Australian Championships, theFrench Championships, Wimbledon, and the United States Championships. She wasonly eighteen years old when she accomplished this magnificent feat. From thattime on, Maureen was know as the incomparable "Little Mo".
In July 1954, "Little Mo" injured her leg in ahorseback riding accident which ended her tennis career. She continued to be amajor influence in the world of tennis. She married Norman Brinker and theymade their home in Dallas.

As one of Dallas' new residents, "Little Mo" wasanxious to promote her beloved game of tennis and in 1968, she joined her dearfriend, Nancy Jeffett to co-found the Maureen Connolly Brinker TennisFoundation. Unfortunately, her tragic death of cancer occurred six months lateron the eve of Wimbledon.
