Why This Card Matters

The back of this card describes Javier Assad, a Tijuana native the Cubs signed in 2015, as looking to turn in another respectable season as a full-time starter in 2025 - the year the Cubs opened against the Dodgers at the Tokyo Dome. Takashi Murakami built this limited series around that trip, wrapping player photos in the smiling-flower motif he has used since the 1990s, and Topps sold it as a Complex Exclusive rather than through hobby shops. That distribution is what makes the print run unlike anything else Topps issued in 2025. This is the base card; the Purple /199, Blue /150, Green /99, Aqua /75, Gold /50 and Orange /25 foils are separate.
