Why This Card Matters
The front reads 2024 NL CY YOUNG AWARD, and the back explains what made it remarkable: “Chris wanted to get back into top form after battling injuries. He did more than just that, winning the Cy Young Award that eluded him during his bid for Cooperstown. Sale was the fifth oldest CYA winner.” The season behind it was a pitching Triple Crown — 18-3 with a 2.38 ERA and 225 strikeouts over 177⅔ innings, a 1.01 WHIP and 6.2 WAR, leading the majors in wins and ERA and the National League in strikeouts. It was his first Cy Young after finishing in the top six five separate times with the White Sox and Red Sox. Chris Sale stands 6'6" and 180 pounds, throws and bats left-handed, and was born 3-30-89 in Lakeland, Florida, where he still lives. The White Sox took him in the first round of the 2010 draft, 13th overall; Atlanta acquired him by trade with the Red Sox on 12-30-23.

| Condition | Raw, ungraded. Centering runs about 57/43 left to right — the cream border is noticeably wider on the left — with top to bottom looking normal. All four corners sharp. Edges clean. The uncoated Heritage cardstock shows its usual speckled fibre texture, and there is one small dark speck or fibre inclusion in the lower-left cream border, which reads as a stock inclusion rather than damage. No creases, dings or print lines. |

The Holographic Foil SP parallel of the same number trades in the same $1–$4 band, which makes it an easy mix-up, so to be exact: this card has no foil or holographic treatment of any kind. It is also not the Rainbow version, and not the 2024 Topps NOW Off-Season Award Winners #OS-4, a different card entirely that shares the award theme.
