Why This Card Matters

The Bicentennial parallel is a nod to the original: 1976 Topps was printed in America’s bicentennial year, and this card carries a foil 1776-1976 stamp across the lower photo alongside the serial. Wiles’ rookie card back records a 2025 that earned him the call — the cartoon panel reads “Nathan had a 2.68 ERA in his first eight Triple-A starts in 2025” — against minor-league totals of 100 games, 325⅓ innings, 19-9 and 283 strikeouts. Nathan Wiles was born 7-2-98 in Overland Park, Kansas, where he still lives, and stands 6'4" at 228 pounds. The Rays drafted him in the eighth round in June 2019; Atlanta acquired him by trade on 3-21-25.

Condition Raw, ungraded, and this is the best-centred card in the batch — measured at 50/50 left to right (77px against 78px) and 50/50 top to bottom. Notably better centred than the base copy of the same card, which is also in this store. All four corners sharp and square under magnification. Edges clean. Surface clean, and both foil stamps — the serial and the 1776-1976 device — are fully intact and unscratched.

The Foil Stamp Is the Tell

Base and Bicentennial share the same card number and the identical back, right down to the CODE# in the fine print. The only difference is on the front: this card carries the foil 1776-1976 stamp and the hand-numbered 149/200 serial, and the base does not. The plain base #642 is separately listed in this store. This is also not the Chrome Refractor, Chrome Blue Refractor /150, Chrome Green Refractor /99, Chrome Black Border /76, Chrome Red /5, Chrome Orange /25, Light Blue Sparkle, Blue Border, Dark Blue or Color of the Year /76.
