Chrome, Unnumbered — and One Thing a Scan Cannot Settle

**How the Chrome was confirmed:** the front is a mirror foil surface with specular streaking through the dark photo area, and the white border is smooth and coated, showing **zero paper fibre at magnification** — where the paper base card of this same number (also in this batch, for direct comparison) shows obvious fibre. The Heritage logo prints metallic silver. The back's vintage "cardboard" texture is a **printed simulation on coated stock**, which is how Heritage Chrome backs are made. **Unnumbered, and that is correct.** 2025 Heritage Chrome is a full 500-card unnumbered set; only the Chrome *Refractor* colour tiers carry serials (Blue /150, Green /99, Black /76, Gold /50, Orange /25, Red /5, SuperFractor 1/1). All four edges of both sides checked: no serial. **One honest limit.** A flatbed cannot separate **plain Chrome from a Chrome Refractor** — a refractor's rainbow burst only shows when the card is tilted under a light, and the scanner's diffuse illumination flattens it. This card is listed as plain Chrome per the owner's in-hand identification and it carries no serial and no refractor wording, both consistent with that. Stated here rather than papered over. **Rookie Card shield present**, under the Heritage logo. Not a short print — SPs are #401–500. Centering, measured against the outer rectangle of the printed 1976 design block and verified uniformly inset first (left-plus-right 156 px against top-plus-bottom 153 px): **51/49 left-to-right, 53/47 top-to-bottom.** Excellent. Corners sharp; the fine serrated edge is the factory cut typical of coated stock. Back code reads CMP097383, with the last digits at the limit of legibility.
