Why This Card Matters
The back picks one stretch and tells it properly: “Already showing promise, Spencer hit his stride following the 2024 MLB All-Star Game. On July 27, he put together the full package when he shut down the Mets in a 4-0 road victory, going seven innings and surrendering two hits while striking out 11. Schwellenbach came back six days later and logged 10 whiffs in another seven frames against Miami.” His printed rookie line reads 21 games, 8-7, 123⅔ innings, 127 strikeouts, a 1.04 WHIP and a 3.35 ERA with 2.7 WAR. The minor-league rows underneath are worth a look too — two starts at Double-A Mississippi in 2024 produced 13 innings, 17 strikeouts and a 0.00 ERA. Spencer Schwellenbach was born 5-31-00 in Saginaw, Michigan, stands 6'1" at 200 pounds and throws right-handed. Atlanta drafted him in the second round in 2021, 59th overall, out of Nebraska — where he had been named college baseball’s best two-way player that same year.

Corners sharp on all four. Edges clean with no chrome chipping visible along the black border. Surface clean under brightened, contrast-boosted inspection, with no scratches or print lines — the speckling visible in the scan is normal chrome reflectivity. |

Plain Base Chrome — Not One of the Refractors
Standard chromium with no refractor treatment. #203 carries one of the deeper refractor ladders in the product: Refractor, X-Fractor, RayWave, Prism, Negative, Sepia, Logofractor, Aqua /299, Aqua Lava /199, Blue Lava /150, True Blue /150, Purple /250, Green Geometric /99, Green RayWave /99, Green Lava /99, Gold Wave /50, Gold Geometric /50, Orange Wave /25, Orange Refractor /25 and a /5 RayWave that sold at $225. This is none of them, and it is not a Sapphire Edition card. It is also not 2025 Topps Archives #203, a completely different product that shares the number.
