Why This Card Matters
This card was printed off the back of the best season Profar has had. The back records 2024 with San Diego: 158 games, 564 at-bats, 94 runs, 158 hits, 29 doubles, 24 home runs, 85 RBI, 10 stolen bases, 76 walks, a .280 average, a .839 OPS and 3.7 WAR — an All-Star campaign at age 31 after a decade of being the prospect who never quite broke through. Career totals through 2024 read 1,119 games, 917 hits, 111 home runs and 444 RBI. Jurickson Profar was born 2-20-93 in Willemstad, Curacao, switch-hits and throws right-handed. The Rangers signed him as a free agent in 2009; Atlanta signed him as a free agent on 1-23-25 after seasons with Texas, Oakland, San Diego and Colorado. Note the oddity: the stat grid ends with the 2024 Padres, because the card was made before he played a game for Atlanta — yet he is pictured and listed as a Brave. The Negative Refractor inverts the photograph tonally, turning the image into a black-and-white negative behind a pale silver-blue chrome border.

| Condition | Raw, ungraded. Corners are sharp at high magnification with no chrome chipping or corner whitening. Edges clean with no visible flaking. Surface was examined at boosted brightness and contrast and shows no scratches or print lines; one tiny white speck near the upper-left border reads as scanner dust. Border width looks fairly even all around. One honest caveat: chrome scratching and gloss dimples are hard to fully confirm from a flatbed scan, so an angled in-hand check is the right way to verify surface on any chrome card. |

Negative Refractor — No Wording on the Card, So Read the Photo
The word “Negative” is not printed anywhere on this card, which is normal for the parallel. It is identified by the tonally inverted black-and-white photograph, which is exactly what you see on the front scan. This is not the plain Refractor, not the base #143, and not the Prism, RayWave, Speckle or any numbered colour parallel. It is also not the 2024 Topps Chrome Update #USC180 Negative or the 2023 Update #USC52 Negative — those are Padres-era cards with different numbers that trade lower.
