Why This Card Matters
George Springer was the **2017 World Series MVP** with Houston, homering **five times in that series** to tie the all-time record while also setting World Series records with eight extra-base hits and 29 total bases. He signed with Toronto in January 2021 on a **six-year, $150 million contract** — the largest in Blue Jays history at the time, passing Vernon Wells. A **four-time All-Star**, he hit **.309 with 32 home runs and a .959 OPS in 2025**, finishing seventh in AL MVP voting and taking a Silver Slugger as Toronto won the **American League pennant**. Centering measured against the outer edge of the red rounded-rectangle frame: **48.6/51.4 left-to-right** — essentially dead centre. **Vertical centering genuinely cannot be measured and I am not going to estimate it.** The 2005 Topps design deliberately places the surname in an oversized top border — measured at 259 px from the top edge to the frame against 99 px at the bottom — so the frame is **not vertically centred by design**. Converting that into a percentage would describe the design, not the cut. Corners, edges and surface are all clean, and the gold foil in the bottom bar is fully intact. |
