Why This Card Matters
**Ignacio "Nacho" Alvarez Jr.** was Atlanta's **fifth-round pick, 155th overall, in 2022** out of Riverside City College, signing over slot for **$497,500**. He climbed to **No. 3 in the Braves' organisational rankings**, built on a genuinely unusual minor league approach: **66 walks against 87 strikeouts and a .395 on-base percentage in 501 plate appearances at High-A in 2023**, then a 12.8% walk rate at Triple-A the following year. He **debuted on July 22, 2024 against Cincinnati** — called up the moment Ozzie Albies fractured his wrist. The signature game came a year later: **on September 20, 2025 at Detroit he hit his first two career home runs**, one in the third and one in the eighth, then added a game-tying single in the ninth as Atlanta won its seventh straight.

Rookie Shield, and What It Does and Doesn't Mean
**Rookie Card shield present**, and it is legitimate — Topps applies the shield to a player's first flagship card after his major league debut. **One thing stated honestly:** Alvarez is **no longer rookie-eligible**. He exceeded rookie limits during the 2025 season, so this is an official RC-shielded card of a player who is past his rookie status, not a card of a current rookie. That is normal and it does not affect the card — but a listing shouldn't imply otherwise. Verified **base**: plain white border (which rules out the Team Color Border variation), no gold mirror foil (Golden Mirror), the standard base photo (True Photo), and **no serial numbering on any edge of either side** (Player Number variations are /99 or less). 2025 Topps Series 1 base runs #1–350. Centering against the outer edge of the dark rounded photo panel — the same reference validated on another card in this batch: **49/51 left-to-right, 48/52 top-to-bottom.** Very well centred. Corners sharp, borders clean and bright, no edge wear, surface clean. Back code CMP097547, marked SERIES ONE.
