Tomoyuki Sugano is a two-time Sawamura Award winner and a three-time Central League MVP, a total tied for the most ever by an NPB pitcher. In 2024 he went 15-3 with a 1.67 ERA over 156.2 innings, walking just 16, and at 35 became the oldest CL pitcher ever named MVP. That 2024 season was his last in Japan before he signed with the Baltimore Orioles, which makes this base card from the 2024 Topps 206 NPB checklist his final-NPB-season issue.
