Why This Card Matters
Nao Higashihama threw a no-hitter against Saitama Seibu on May 11, 2022 — the 84th individual no-hitter in NPB history and the first by an Okinawa-born pitcher. He shared the 2017 Pacific League wins title with 16, going 16-5 with a 2.64 ERA, and SoftBank took him first overall in a three-team lottery in the 2012 draft out of Asia University. The 2024 season on this card was injury-shortened at 11 games and a 3.38 ERA. This is his base card in the 2024 Topps 206 NPB checklist.
