Set, Size & Parallel Note

Allen & Ginter revives the 1887 tobacco-card look — an ornate rope-and-ribbon frame, ivory stock and THE WORLD'S CHAMPIONS across the back. **This is a full-size 2½ x 3½ inch card, not a mini.** That is worth stating outright, because A&G's mini cards are a separate and frequently confused format with their own parallel structure — and the **Black Border** parallel is mini-only, as is Brooklyn Back /25. This card is neither. It is the **base**: the ivory-white border is not the black-bordered variant; the rope frame is standard CMYK litho with **visible halftone rosettes and no metallic foil at 3x**, which rules out Foil Filigree; the portrait is full colour, which rules out Silver Portrait; and it is not Glossy. **Not serial numbered**, verified on all four edges of both sides. **Not a short print** — the 2023 A&G base set is #1-300 with the SP high numbers at #301-400, so #40 sits well inside the common run.
