This card was printed the summer Atlanta drafted him, and the back keeps it short: “Hurston Waldrep was selected with the 24th overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft by the Atlanta Braves. Possessing a crafty splitter, he progressed quickly through the team’s farm system. He made his MLB debut on June 9, 2024.” Hurston Waldrep was born 3-1-02 in Cairo, Georgia and lives in Thomasville; he stands 6'2" at 210 pounds and throws right-handed. Atlanta took him in the first round of the 2023 draft, 24th overall, out of the University of Florida, and he made his major-league debut on 6-9-24. Leaf issues are unlicensed, so there are no stats, no team logo and no position printed — the appeal is the design and the LEAF X RC rookie logo on the front.

The angular ornamental frame makes precise centering hard to state; left to right looks roughly even with the gold ornament coming close to both side edges, and top to bottom the gold reaches within a few pixels of each edge, so it is roughly even both ways despite looking bottom-heavy. All four corners sharp and clean at high zoom. Edges clean. The large white front surface is clean — no scuffs, creases or print flaws, which matters on a design this pale. |
