Gabriel Arias signed with **San Diego out of La Victoria, Venezuela, in July 2016 for $1.9 million** as a 16-year-old, and came to Cleveland on **August 31, 2020 in the nine-player Mike Clevinger trade** — the deal that also brought Josh Naylor, Cal Quantrill, Austin Hedges, Owen Miller and Joey Cantillo. Scouts have always led with the glove: **"plus-plus range with a cannon for an arm."** **2025 was his best year by volume — career highs of 129 games, 11 home runs and 54 RBI.** He is still in Cleveland in 2026, back from a hamstring strain that cost him April and May. Chrome Is the Product, Not a Parallel

**A point worth making explicitly:** this card is on chrome stock because **Topps Chrome Update is a chrome product** — the silver chromium substrate is the base card's normal finish, not a parallel treatment. The parallels are the *colours*: Refractor /299, Aqua /250, Blue /199, X-Fractor /99, Green /75, Gold /50, Red /25, SuperFractor 1/1, and the unnumbered Purple Refractor. Verified **base**: uniform silver chrome with no diffraction or rainbow burst, and **no serial numbering on any edge of either side**. The base run is USC1–USC200 with no short prints and no image variations. **Rookie Card shield present** — the MLB RC logo at the top right of the front. Centering, measured against the inner silver/maroon rounded-rectangle frame line (symmetric left-to-right by design): **52/48 left-to-right**. Top-to-bottom **has no valid reference** on the front — the top carries a decorative pattern band and the bottom a nameplate, which are not the same element — so no vertical figure is quoted. The back is a horizontal design; its red frame runs about 50/50 on the long axis. Corners are sharp with no fraying and the edges are clean. Back code CMP056783.
