This is his **1st Bowman card** — the first Bowman issue of a player, which is the card prospect collectors chase. **Where he actually is in 2026, stated plainly:** he was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on March 1 and has **not appeared in a major league game this season**, hitting .236 with a .337 on-base percentage across 37 games at Gwinnett before landing on the injured list. 1st EDITION — a Separate Product, and the Name Question

**Two distinct things on this card's front, and they are easy to conflate.** - The round **"1st edition" roundel** at the lower left identifies the **product**: **2022 Bowman Draft 1st Edition**, a separate release from standard Bowman Draft with its own distribution. - The **"1ST BOWMAN" logo** at the top right identifies the **card**: this is the player's first Bowman issue. Those are not the same claim, and this card carries both. **On the name: "Ignacio Alvarez" and "Nacho Alvarez Jr." are the same player.** This card prints **Ignacio**; his 2025 Topps issues print **Nacho Alvarez Jr.**, which is how MLB now lists him. Five of his cards in this batch use the later name and this one uses the earlier — worth knowing if you are chasing a player run and searching by one spelling only. **No Rookie Card shield** — correct. This is a prospect card, not an MLB rookie card; his RC shields came in 2025. **No centering percentage is quoted.** The brushed-silver background is full-bleed to all four edges, and the navy/red frame is a broken swoosh — interrupted at the top right by the 1st Bowman logo and at the bottom right by the team logo — not a closed symmetric rectangle. **The visible vertical grain across the card is the printed brushed-metal design, not scratching.** Corners are sharp with no whitening, edges clean, surface clean.
