Eddie Mathews’ 2020 Allen & Ginter mini carries the A&G back — the crest design “commemorating the picture cards brought out in the year 1887” — which is the tougher-pull back variation of the standard mini. Mathews hit 512 home runs, made 12 All-Star teams and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1978; he and Hank Aaron combined for 863 homers as Braves teammates, still the most by any duo in MLB history, and Mathews is the only man to play for the Braves in Boston, Milwaukee and Atlanta. The card pictures him in the Milwaukee Braves’ 1950s flannels with the script “Braves” chest logo.
