Why This Card Matters

Biagini is one of the better Rule 5 outcomes of the last decade — Toronto took him from the Giants in December 2015, had to carry him on the major-league roster all season to keep him, and got a useful reliever who threw 67 innings as a rookie and later moved between the rotation and the bullpen. He became a cult favorite in Toronto for his deadpan interviews as much as his pitching. This is his base card in 2019 Topps Update Series, the fall supplement to the flagship set.
