Armando Rivero pitched at three levels in his 2013 professional debut after signing with the Cubs as a free agent out of Cuba, posting a 2.70 ERA at Single-A Daytona and finishing the season in Double-A with 45 strikeouts in 30.1 innings. He spent four seasons with Industriales in the Cuban National Series and threw a scoreless inning at the FISU World University Championships before defecting, and he built his profile on a mid-90s fastball and a splitter he calls Mr. Splitty thrown from a low three-quarters slot. This is his 1st Bowman card, the base paper version.
