Why This Card Matters
Dave Stieb is the greatest pitcher in Blue Jays history and still holds the franchise record in **wins (175), innings (2,873), starts (408), complete games (103), shutouts (30) and strikeouts (1,658)** — first all-time in all six. A **seven-time All-Star**, he threw **the only no-hitter in Blue Jays history** on September 2, 1990, a 3-0 win at Cleveland. He got there the hard way: three separate no-hit bids died with two outs in the ninth, including a **perfect game broken up with two outs in the ninth** on August 4, 1989. Toronto put him on its **Level of Excellence in 1996**, in the inaugural class. This is his base card in **1991 Leaf**, the premium-feel silver-bordered set Donruss issued as its upmarket brand — and one of the last cards of his Blue Jays career.

| Attributes | Parallel: Base, Raw / ungraded |
| Condition | Raw / ungraded. Near Mint or better unless noted. Please review the front and back scans — they show the exact card you will receive, including centering, corners, edges and surface. Centering measured against the outer edge of the black inner frame inside the silver border, a symmetric rectangle and so a valid reference: **49/51 left-to-right and 51/49 top-to-bottom** — excellent on both axes. All four corners are sharp and square, with only a trace of paper fibre visible at the top-left and top-right under 4x and no rounding. Edges are clean. One honest note on the surface: the silver border shows fine speckle, which is a **print characteristic inherent to 1991 Leaf's silver stock** rather than damage — it appears on essentially every copy. The photo area is clean. |

Set & Parallel Note
1991 Leaf was Donruss' premium brand — heavier stock and a distinctive **silver border** against the mass-market sets of the era. This is a **Series 1** card (the back prints SERIES 1 beside the 1991 Leaf copyright); Series 1 runs #1-264 within the 528-card set. This is the **base** card: 1991 Leaf has **no parallel program**, and the only separate variant family is the **Leaf Gold Rookies** insert, which carries a completely different design and a GOLD ROOKIE banner — absent here. **Not serial numbered**; the era predates it. The back carries **no CODE# line** — Leaf did not use Topps' product-code system.
