In the 1987 All-Star Game at the Oakland Coliseum he led off the 13th inning with a single and scored on Tim Raines' two-run triple — the only runs of a 2–0 National League win. His father, **Ozzie Virgil Sr., was the first Dominican-born player in Major League Baseball**, debuting with the New York Giants in September 1956, and broke the Detroit Tigers' color barrier in June 1958. Oversized Format — Read Before You Buy

**This card will not fit standard supplies.** 1988 Topps Big is a **2⅝″ × 3¾″** horizontal card — measured off the scan at 3.73″ × 2.63″ laid landscape. A normal penny sleeve and a 3×4 toploader are both too small. It ships in oversize-appropriate protection, and you will want the same on your end. **Condition — graded EX by us, and here is exactly why.** There is a **slight crease at the upper-right corner of the front**. On a flatbed scanner a light crease flattens out and will not photograph as a line, so instead of claiming one is visible, here is the affirmative evidence that is visible: the **right cut edge has a distinct angular kink** about ⅛″ below the corner, where the edge runs straight and then abruptly jogs inward; the **top edge near that corner is feathered**, with paper fibers standing proud of a clean 1988 factory cut; the **corner point is blunted** while the other three are not; and the **mirrored area on the back shows diffuse gray pressure soiling**. There are also a few small brown foxing specks in the white border beside that corner. Everything else on the card is clean. Centering against the symmetric red frame: **42/58 left-to-right, 41/59 top-to-bottom** — the frame sits high and left. 264 cards in three series of 88; no short prints.
