Why This Card Matters

The back of this card tells the story: Crim was not even invited to spring training until the second week of 1987, then led all Brewers pitchers with a 1.54 ERA and made the Opening Day roster, throwing two scoreless innings in relief for his first big-league win. He finished 1987 with 53 games, a 3.67 ERA and 12 saves, second on the staff only to Dan Plesac. An All-America at Hawaii in 1980, he was Milwaukee's 18th-round pick in June 1982. This is card 402 of 660 in Score's debut set.
