Why This Card Matters
Rance Mulliniks came to Toronto in **March 1982, traded from Kansas City for pitcher Phil Huffman** — one of the most lopsided deals in club history — and stayed **eleven seasons**, through 1992. His best year was **1988: .300 with a .385 on-base percentage, 12 home runs and a 143 OPS+**, and he hit .310 the year before that. He holds the franchise record with **58 career pinch hits**. This is his base card in the 1988 Donruss set, issued off that .300 season.

Being straight with you: **this is the softest card in the batch on condition.** Centering is off in both axes — about **45/55 left-to-right** (right-heavy) and **57/43 top-to-bottom** (bottom-heavy). Three corners are sharp but **the bottom-right corner shows a distinct small white ding and blunting at the tip**, and there is white chipping along the black border at the top-left. The surface itself is clean with no creases. The back is clean with sharp corners apart from one small white nick at the bottom-left. Priced accordingly. |

1988 Donruss is the black-bordered 660-card base set printed by Leaf, Inc.; the back carries the "© 1987 LEAF, INC. / Printed in USA" line and gives his full name as Steven Rance Mulliniks. **No parallels exist in this set**, so there is no base-versus-parallel question. The English-only back and "Printed in USA" confirm the American Donruss issue rather than the bilingual Canadian Leaf version.
